VIA "Orera" (Georgian ვია ორერა) is a Soviet and Georgian vocal-instrumental ensemble, organized by Robert Bardzimashvili at the Georgian State Philharmonic Society in Tbilisi in 1961. The word "Orera" is an idiom, an untranslatable refrain to Georgian folk songs. In Soviet times, "Orera" was the first popular music group to perform not only in the Warsaw Pact countries, developing countries in Asia and Africa, but also in capitalist countries - England, Canada, Singapore, France, Australia, USA, Mexico, Finland and a number of others. ... And, of course, the ensemble performed many times in each of the 15 republics of the USSR.
