The real name of the singer is Thyra, she took a pseudonym because of the obvious possible comparisons with the American supermodel Tyra Banks. Miss Banks was born and raised in South London in a musical family. Her mother and aunt listened to R&B artists such as Whitney Houston, En Vogue, Monica, Donnelle Jones and Asher, and her uncle, who was a rapper in a band called Essentials, where his name was Remedy, listened to drum and bass.
