The Fäaschtbänkler are a Swiss band of new folk music. The music group was founded in 2008 in Kriessern by five musicians Andreas Frei, Roman Wüthrich, Marco Graber, Michael Hutter and Roman Pizio. Three of the five band members studied music (Pizio: trumpet, Frei: trumpet, Wüthrich: piano). The band lives in Switzerland in the border triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2012, the Fäaschtbänkler released their first CD, Oagasenn, independently. In 2014, the second CD, Orgasmusik, was released. With this recording, the band landed in the iTunes album charts for the first time. In September 2016, the third album, Mitten in die Scheibe, followed, which entered the Swiss album charts at number 14. With their following album Partyplanet, the Fäaschtbänkler managed to enter the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2018. Their folk music album Alpaland, which was released at the same time, enjoyed parallel success with entries in the Swiss and Austrian album charts.
